TV Spot Conventions (A2)

I am going to look at TV spots from different genres of film, to see if they share the same conventions despite one being and action film and the other being a horror/thriller. The films are Fast & Furious and Bird Box. Fast & Furious TV Spot TV Spot Begins with the production logo of the film Release Date is Shown Tag Lines Displayed Quick Editing Sudden Explosions/Jump Scares Close Up on main characters Voice Over Dialogue Between Film Rating displayed at the end Website displayed at the end Bird Box TV Spot Scene is introduced with an establishing shot There is very fast editing from scene the scene There is a voice over to give audience more insight as to what is going on Some credits such as the Director and screen player are shown at the end of the film Quick Sound effects that also builds tension and goes with the quick editing Tag lines are shown throughout Tag Lines are used in a big bold text The Best Bits of the film are shown Releas...

Teaser Trailer Conventions (A2)

I am going to look at teaser trailers for two different films, from two different genres, to see if the general conventions of teaser trailers are the same regardless of genre. The films I am looking at are Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (action/adventure) and The Nun (horror). In Dawn of the Planet of the Apes TV Spot there is: Trailer Starts With Production LOGO "20th Century Fox" Fast Editing from start to finish which keeps it short and 'Tease' the audience A Voice Over to give the audience an idea of what is going on The Sound used builds suspense as it starts of slow before leading up to a loud bang There are many Close Up Shots The lighting used is rather dark and dull There are certain scenes where you can hear what a particular character is saying e.g 'I need to Speak to Caesar' There are a number of quick Blackouts The Teaser Trailer ends with a cliffhanger The Film Logo/Title is shown at the end The Release date of the film is also sh...
