I am going to look at Theatrical Trailers from different genres of film, to see if they share the same conventions despite one being and Romantic/Drama and the other being a Crime/Thriller. The films are 96 and The Legend 96 Theatrical Trialer The Trailer is introduced with a Production company logo The two main characters of the film are introduced by a medium shot More of the story/narrative is shown Slower Editing Dialogue Still Shows the best bits Film title shown at the end More characters are shown in depth Production Logo is shown at the start Scene is introduced with an establishing shot Main characters are shown (in the taxi) Voice over is used Tag Lines such as "Based on a true story" are used to give the film a realistic feel to it More of the story/narrative is shown Lively Sound effects/Music is used Some credits are shown Many of the scenes are left on cliff hangers General Conventions in Theatrical Trailers Film Production logos...
